HOME NEWS MANAGEMENT SERVICES TECHNOLOGIES ABOUT CONTACT

At Equine Analysis Systems, we hold the conviction that technology is destined to enhance traditional farm management.  We are constantly looking to integrate our sciences to create a new singularity of traditional thoroughbred management and scientific analysis. Below are some of the procedures we use to integrate technology into our clients operations.

Cardiovascular Competence
As leaders in echocardiography, our veterinarians and technical staff benefit from the experience gained from over 40,000 cardiac evaluations. In addition to a detailed report of your horse’s cardiovascular capability, we also implement the Classic Heart Index™, which provides our clients a quantitative summary of their horses cardiovascular potential.

FotoSelect ®:

FotoSelect® is a conformational analysis tool designed by field leader Dr. Mikael Holmstroem. It interpolates bone and joint structure based on a conformational photograph and a singular anatomical marker placed on the hip.  This structure is then compared to an internal model or past photographs of the horse to deduce racing ability, breeding potential, and growth history.

Genetics:

Genetic understanding is destined to revolutionize how horsemen understand their animals.  Equine Analysis Systems has taken a proactive approach to the genetic research and our offices feature a complete genetic laboratory.  Our current genetic testing procedure provides information on a horse’s future size, distant preference, surface preference, and racing ability

The Wind Test
®

Designed by partner Dr. Deborah Boehler, The Wind Test® is a crucial part of our Optimize Racing Protocol.  Rather than using video like traditional or dynamic scopes, The Wind Test® uses audible cues and a highly sensitive microphone to diagnose respiratory pathology. When used in conjunction with the tests below, it can also be used to find your horses “cruising speed” and assist in making racing management decisions

Motion Efficiency
:

A key component of all horse’s racing ability is his or her stride effectiveness. To study the motion of horses in training, the Motion Efficiency test utilizes accelerometer data to get a three-dimensional overview of a horses gait.  Utilizing the Motion Efficiency test can not only allow trainers and owners to foresee soundness issues, but also allows our clients to determine, with scientific certainty, which surface their horse prefers.

Metabolic Response to Exercise:

The Metabolic Response to Exercise (otherwise known as the MRE) test is based on the analysis of a horse’s blood after exercise.  By analyzing the blood for certain waste products, we can inform our clients on the exact level of physiological effort expended by a horse after a work.  When combined with the Motion Efficiency and The Wind Test®, we can give our clients a complete scientific overview of their horses on-track performance.
